Upgrading light...

OUPike1833

I dose OxiClean!
I am wanting to add a few corals into a tank that has been set up for about 9 months. I am still running the original fluorescent light that came with my tank though.

Specs for the tank: 28 gallon bowfront, 24 inches wide

I have been thinking about a Nova Extreme X2 T-5 2 bulb (1 10K and 1 blue) setup since the tank is on the smaller side of things.

Any input would be of great help?

Thanks.

aquatraders.com

if you dont like them youll also find the lights on ebay.

they are odyssea brand. not THE BEST but they will do more than fine. its what i run on mine.

There is nothing bad about what you picked first.

It took me a long time and lots of reading to come up with my setup.

I also scrounged used parts in Fish Stores and on Forums.

If you want the best advice there is a whole thread on lighting.

As to corals, everyone will ask what kind of corals you want.

For me I decided I may one day want SPS/LPS so the experts suggested 4x24w T5's of various color spectrums.

I ended up building my own canopy and buying a retrokit from ReefGeeks.
