UPS came, with something old and something new???

So, UPS came yesterday. Unfortunately the panther game kept me from ripping into the packages. Today I got the chance.

First, after weeks of trolling the boards, I gave in and ordered a brand new ATI fixture with bulbs from ReefGeek. And here it is.

Next was this.

Unfortunately when unopened the package, this is what I found.

This pump was supposed to be new and was purchases directly from Reeflo. I have emailed Beth with photos. I am so disappointed! I've been waiting for over a week and was really looking forward to plumbing the system this weekend .Had even decided to work from home tomorrow in the hopes of getting some of this done.

No, I decided to go a different route and will be adding a reefbrite HO to the front and possibly the rear if this fixture. When that time comes, as I understand, reefbrite will custom make the strip to the exact length and then it is a direct bolt-on.

Oceanmang also did this on his 36" tank. Search his old posts for pics. It actually looked like it was made for this.

Did reeflo respond? It looks like they sent you someone else's pump that was in getting serviced. I'm interested to hear what they say, they're known for great customer service.

Just got this email.

We do not sell used Blowholes. That is a new pump. As you know, we are still beta testing this pump and we havent perfected the paint job. This should have no effect on the performance for the pump however, if you would like to return it, I will refund your money once it is received. Thanks,

Having not seen the email, I called and spoke to Beth. Definitely was not the service I had expected, given everything I've read. I was nothing but respectful and it was obvious that she was "over" dealing with me. Her tone and statements indicated that this is what it is and if I'm not interested I can return the pump. Having chosen it after careful consideration, returning it isn't really an option. I guess I will touch up the paint myself. If this is new, can't imagine how it's going to look a year from now.

Maybe it's just me, but I always get the impression when dealing with folks in other states that the national belief is that everyone in Miami is shady. Not sure the response from Reeflo would have been the same if I were in the Mid-West.

Are they testing new paint? Paint has been perfected since the 1800's

They are kinda shady. IMO

They sell a dart pump and a dart gold that are exact same pump.

One is way more money than the other, why? Because the Gold edition has longer warranty.

Why change the name of the pump, change the length of the warranty.

With that said, I would still buy another from them lol.

My experience with reeflo customer service was very negative, seems you are getting the same.

Wow. Well there are alternatives. I would look into bubble blaster and wave line dc pumps.

I have run my eheim 1260 external pump for 1.5 years. So far so good. I barely notice the noise of the pump and it's very easy to do maintenance on.

i run a pan world 1150x, very quiet. i would have return it out of pride.

this is my second pump ( blow hole 2700 )from them the first one ran the temp up in my tank to 89.5 they sent a replacement one i will test this weekend ! i had no problum with them reeflo at this point in time .
