Ups?

Hi all.

Could I simply plug my Tunze PH into this for a battery back up? Anyone know how to workout how long it would last at a certain wattage?

Thanks to all in advance!

It depends on the model, if it is a DC controllable pump, no problem, if it is an AC unit, it will likely be able to keep running but this power supply would not be able to start it, it would sputter and stall and spin backwards since the Hz frequency would not be exactly correct.

That should work fine. The main reason to use a safety connector instead is it is more efficient, with this UPS you are converting DC to AC and back to DC so you have a lot of losses and less run time for the same size battery.

Hello,

AmericanReef has a video that goes into a lot of detail on the options for the safety connector, it can be used with lantern batteries, SLA batteries and solar panels.
