Urchins

I have a long spine, black sea urchin which is totally eradicating my coralin algae - I mean, I am amazed at how much this urchin can consume - my rocks are nicely white now. Any experience any of you?

I had a pin cushion urchin a few months back, it consumed a descent amount as well, I traded it in, not because of the coraline it ate but the frags it kept picking up and putting on its back

Thanks you two!

Dave, I have to say, I did try to teach him about the boundaries of glass versus rock and Coral. I tried spraying him with a spray bottle, which worked on my dog, but the urchin didn't seem to care? Go figure :)

Dave, I didn't forget about you guys on Friday, but, no way to get out of the hospital until latte. Another day, another month?

Matt,

thank you for asking - Catherine is actually walking around, a great improvement, though she is still in a lot of pain with swollen belly. She is getting better!

About the Urchin - I took the dude out of the main tank and placed him in my prop tank as he was just mowing over the rock, all Coralline gone!

Now I have to get more Benghai's as the original 3 from SB didn't last. Do you have a phone number for him? Did your's last? If so, wanna sell them?

Great news Rainer! Glad to hear it!

David,

why do you say that?

I did remove her because of the alkaline algae destruction, and I know they knock things over. Are you referring to their hunger which could possibly turn to coral if c. algae is gone?
