Urgent Answer Needed - Clam Wont Open

I have a 5" Corcea clam on a rock in my tank...i've had it for about a month or so. My lights are MH 250w in a 90g and the water parameters are fine. I did see it open partially for like an hour before the lights went out..it's been going on for 2 days now.

I did notice my blue tang nip it twice right around the mouth of the clam...what;s going on? Can anyone help.

PS I feed DTs phytp as well twice a week.

do you have another tank you could put it in and see if it opens?
Sounds like either the clam or the tang might have to go?

I'd keep an eye on the tang..it might have turned into a nipper.
Other than that there is no telling really, if everything has been constant.

That will certainly keep the clam from opening. Once a fish starts this, the clam will not open fully!! Take the fish out or the clam!!

damn...i had no idea that a tang would do this..i have stayed away from angels for this very reason...this sucks...i love them both...but the tang will have to go if push comes to shove
