URGENT - fish carkii?

So i bought a medium sized Clarkii today, he ate at the store, and looked super healthy! And he was acting normal most of the day...

But now hes staying in the corner of the tank, sort of going slightly side ways (at times) and then going back vertical (normal)

Anything i should be worried about?

That is normal for a new clownfish. They will sort of glide along the glass in a verticle positon and not do much. Just give it some time and it will swim around the tank. It took my pair of clowns 2 month to stop hiding in the corner and started swimming around the tank.

Are your lights out? He's probably just sleeping. Mine sleep sideways and vertically sometimes.

it was about 2 hours before i turned the lights off, i had them on about 12 hours today though...maybe thats why he was going to sleep? not sure =/

If he's still doing it at noon tomorrow you might start to worry, otherwise it's just being a clownfish. They do their own thing.

He's probably just getting used to the tank most likely he'll be fine when you turn on the lights tomorrow if he's still sidewards then you probably have a bit of trouble.

all my levels are perfect, but hes still laying in the sand sideways breathing heavily!

you got any other fish in the tank that may be chasing him?

this sounds like soemthing that just happened to me, had 2 black occ's in my 24g and switched them over to my 75g and had a fairly larger domino damsel (been in the 75g the longest) chased them around they would sit up in the corner of the tank, honestly sideways as if they were trying to get as far up away from the damsel as they could.. (5 hours later after spending 2 hrs on traps... and trying to catch him i gave in to taking all my rocks down just to catch this damsel and brought him to lfs)

idk if this helps.. but just check for some fish chasing him

p.s. when i took the damsel out, the clowns were fine, and are very happy right now =D

What do you consider to be perfect levels? Can we get some more detail on the tank? Type of filtration, size, skimmer, lighting, tankmates, etc?

Well guys bad new - the Clarkii died today, i took him back to the Reef Store i bought it from and they apologize...apparently almost all of their clarkii's didn't do so well on the shipment over to the store! thanks for all the help though.

At least they fully refunded me
