Urgent Help Requested!

Sorry to hear about that Jeremy. I can start pumping out some RO water for you if you still need some. Just LMK.

Jeremy,

Looks like the week for tank havoc! I lost most of my old tank to an ammonia/nitrate induced die off tuesday after I tried to vacuum it. That dark force (gremlins, like the movie!) Steve talked about must be working overtime this week!. Here's hoping that the damage is minimal!

Well, it's not pretty. The sps tank appears to be a wasteland. Not sure if any will make it through. A lot of obvious casualties at this point, praying for some to pull through. As for the zoos, too early to tell. Other than them being closed, they seem OK. No brown jelly yet, and they don't seem overly deflated either. If I had to guess, I think most if not all of them should pull through. The strange thing is that both tangs, all 3 shrimp, and both anemones appear to be alright.

Now, I've got a new problem. Before I left town I bought a few more corals from a fellow RC member and they just arrived today. I don't dare put them into my system just yet. Can anyone house 9 sps frags for a little while until my system recovers? I won't hold you responsible for any losses, but I know they won't last long in my tank.
I've got them at my office now, and would love to drive them over to someone for safekeeping. Any volunteers?

The worst thing about this crash is that I just traded a bunch of equipment for a ton of nice corals. Lots of LE from tfp, in particular, Nuuze, and from others. Setosa, GARF Bonsai, Candlelight, Sunset, rainbow, and other montis, Leng Sy, Aquadelight..... The list goes on.:sad1:

I'd help you out if I weren't so far away and my system could handle SPS, but I dont think it could. Hope you find your help Jeremy

I've got my frag tank running right now, and you are more than welcome to house them in there.
It's got a 250W MH light on it

All my SPS in there are doing well right now, but some are browning a bit, from the shipping, new tank, etc...

I can make room for your if you like.

Steve to the rescue once again.
I love this club and the willingness to help others in need.
Jeremy, hope your stuff pulls through.

Well, first of all, thanks go out to Keith Grandt for coming over to do what he could before I managed to get back into town, Ed and Steve for supplying the much needed RO water to try to get things back under control, Steve for housing a few corals for me, and everyone else for the generous offers of support. I truly appreciate it.
Now, on to the updates:
Not good!!! The sps have been all but wiped out. The softies are seriously struggling, and the zoos have yet to open up and let me know that they are OK.
Here is the mess and cloudy water that greeted me when I got home, along with the stench.

Just a wee bit of RO water from Ed and Steve:

Stayed up til 2 am prepping the water so as not to cause even more damage.

Amazingly, a few hopefuls remain:
Tri Color and Fire Engine Monti:

And apparently the starfish and shrimps made it:

Both anemones also appear in good shape:

And the gorgonians show no ill effects:

I did another 40 gal water change tonight, and will do another this weekend. Out of about 60 sps, I only have any real hope of maybe 6 or 7 surviving. A bunch of the zoos seem to be opening up, while just as many are not yet responding. Thanks again to all those who offered up their support.

You're telling me! I nearly cried when I thought of the $ value of the frags I lost. Lets just say it's NOT insignificant.

Well to cheer him up here's some pics of the nice stuff he has waiting in my frag tank.
Granted my camera sucks really bad, and the tank is hecka scratched up but...
