Urgent - Marine Micro Worms - Useful?

OK, so I've been having tons of trouble with a SS-Strain Rotifer Culture (in other words, no rotifers). I drained it today and SURPRISE SURPRISE, I found TONS of microscopic worms.

So, first, a picture at 60X and a video at 200X.

1. What are they?

2. Are they useful for anything?

3. Should I try to maintain them in a culture for now, especially if the answers to #1 and #2 aren't "conclusive"?

Thanks!

Matt

I have no idea what they are. I would experiment with a few of them on the onyx fry. Dont no how you would do this though.

Well, I don't know if they're actually eating rots or just outcompeting them (or killing them through some other mechanism OR if they can just survive in poorer water quality than rots). Basically, I just "don't know" much of anything about them, other than they are small, very narrow in diameter but relatively long, and fairly active.

Thanks LUIS...that's what I was kinda thinking. They'll get trashed (so I can restart a successful SS-Rot culture...I need all the backups I can get!)

I'm sure once you destroy the nematode culture you'll find an indispensible need for them.

It's funny I was thinking about microworms for clowns, since they work so well for tiny betta fry. I'm suprised they wouldn't work. Even if they did work you might run into nutrition problems if fed to fry too long. Maybe they would work for some of the benthic species.
