These pass 2 weeks my clam has only been partially opening. That's pretty unusual for this clam since its always been the show piece in my tank. I notice there was a worm looking thing on one of its sides but don't know if its good/bad or just part of the clam.

Please help me

I'm not sure, but looks like it could be one of the tube type worms. I don't think they cause issues, but not sure.

I had a Squamosa a while ago that one day just stopped expanding its mantle near the mouth area. The whole area was actually receding badly. It was suggested to do a freshwater dip. I did a 15 minute FW dip and after a week it was starting to look better. It wasn't fully, so I dipped again and about a week later it looked great. It fully recovered.

It did look kind of crappy right after doing the dip. Just remember to adjust the FW pH to match your tank along with matching the temp. Good luck.

i like to remove all tube worms from clams, especially vermetid snails. if its a vermetid snail i would remove it asap. they cast a really annoying mucus net.

You can break it off with pliers or insert a knife in between the snail and the clam shell and lever it off.

its a vermatid snail can quickly get outta hand as in invasive, but not always. kill them as soon as you see ont, regardless of where it is. breaking is best way

I got the sucker off but still had signs of pm so I did a 20min fw dip last night. Clam is looking horrible[/QUOTE

My crocea had PM, I ran GAC for a couple of days but saw no improvement. It's gape was increasing and as a last resort I did a FW dip for 30 minutes but unfortunately it didn't make it.:sad2:

I hope yours does better.
