US Plastics

Just wondering if anyone "needs" anything from US Plastics. Unless I can find some place local to purchase clear extruded acrylic rod at, I will be ordering some from US Plastics. But even with a few "extras," my order comes to less than $8.00 and the estimated shipping comes to $6.00. So if anyone else has a need for something from their site and would like to order together, let me know.

Are you going to use to stack your rock? I have been thinking about doing that. I'm in, but I need to take a look at the site to find out what I need. Any helpful opinions are gladly accepted. Thanks Emily for letting me know.
Hey what happened with the house inspections?

Yeah, there's a place thats local. Chriscobb has dealt with them, might want to send him a PM and check. Shipping for acrylic is ridiculous.

Quite possible I could use a few myself. Once the distributor is chosen, I'll let you know what I could use.

Yes, I want the acrylic to stack rock. My tank looks like Jack the Ripper went through it -- I have scratches everywhere because of all the rock collapses that have occured. I'll attempt to find out who may have it locally (thanks Billy), otherwise I will be ordering. They do ship the stuff in 6' long pieces, but paying for shipping is just such a bummer.

Jeff -- sewer had to be pushed back again because of rain. I'm a bit nervous -- I don't know if it is a good sign when skunk cabbage is growing on your front "lawn."

Most of the posts that I have read mention 3/8", so that is what I am probably going to get. I haven't PMed Chris yet; need to do that.

Sorry, we've been super busy w/ house stuff all week, but the house is now ours (not what you meant when you asked about news, is it?) Its crazy; my parents currently own three houses.

Nope, no news. I'm up for either buying local or ordering. I need to contact the local place re: pricing.

Actually I did want to know on both issues. Great to hear the house is working out for you.
I am currently checking out using 1/2" PVC for stacking the rocks. Still interested in acrylic as well if this doesn't work out.

Yes, a masonary drill bit. Apparently, it helps when the rock is wet. Sorry, I still haven't called locally -- I've actually been doing some pet sitting & some packing. But this is a definate for me -- I'm going to get some in March for a build in April.
