Does anyone here use a usb extention cable to connect their light fixture to a computer that is more than the 15' cable you can buy from EcoTech?

Check out Monoprice..com
I got a 15' cord that I use on my lights. For only $1.79. I will be getting the Reeflink so won't be needed the cable to much longer.

I use a 15' cable that I bought from EcoTech.
But I'm wondering if a person can use one that's 40' -45' and plug it into the EcoTech usb cable.

I run a 25' USB cable to my server in the basement with no issues. I was worried about using one of those cheap Amazon Basic cables but it works great, no issues.

Aftermarket USB cables typically work just fine- have you considered a ReefLink?

Well for me the cable was $12 not $200(reeflink price). I have a pc on 24hours a day so and I can access ecosmart live via my iPhone anytime. What would be the benefit of reeflink in this scenario?

I have the same hookup with a USB cable. Getting the ReefLink would be good at least for two reasons; get rid of the USB cord over the tank and if I have more than one tank in the house it will make it easier to control them.
