Used 6205

Hey guys! I just bought a 6205 used from someone here on reef central and love the flow in my 180gal. I have an Apex to controll it, but when it turns on (from 0 to 50%) there is a kind of loud click. Any suggestions on how to get rid of the click?

It won't get rid of it, but assuming it is a model made before July 2010, a new 6205.700 drive unit will likely reduce it greatly.

Also, set it from 10%-50%. You're not suppose to run it down to 0.

Actually, that is incorrect, 0 is fine (off) but 1-29% are not possible without harm to the pump. 0 or 30-100%.

Thanks guys. As long as I keep my lowest setting to 30 there is no noise. Too bad, I really would like it to turn on and off at night.

Again, if the propeller is black in color and is an older model, you will see a substantial improvement by simply upgrading the drive unit, the newer models have a blue impeller, tighter fitting Titanium shaft and new disk with anti attenuation bushing, these will reduce the noise.
