I'm looking at buying a used GHL ProfiLux Stand Alone Dosing System, 3 Pumps w/ built in Controller. Is there a way to tell how old it is? On avarage how long do the pumps last? Don't want to buy a used one and have to put alot of money into where I end up spending the same cost as a new one or more.

If it helps you decide. A new motor, head, and tubing is about $100.
To me, unless the price is 60% or more below the new unit price, it's not worth it.

Thank goodness they are "user serviceable" but as Nick said you don't want to go replacing components right off the bat.

Can you get the serial # of the unit? I don't know for sure but it's possible GHL can tell you buy that. Even if you know the date it was built that doesn't tell you much well maintained or how long it's been since the heads were replaced.

Buy new! we see so many S/H units that have been put in wrong environments or not maintained.

It is easy to see the manufacture date there is a sticker in its bum, and if that got pealed off the serial number will tell us.

With new you have the 2 year warranty also.
