useing pickling lime need help

ok i dosed the first time last night with 1tbs to a gallon i had it drip 1 drip per 5 secounds i did a test today for alklinty and its still at 13 didnt even move and my ph is still the same to what should i do

that's high alk, you don't want more than that. What's your calcium at?

Yeah I agree that that is high keep it around 9-10 if your alk is that high your calcium must be low I'm guessing around 275-300. What test kits are you using also?

8-11 Alk
350-450 Calcium
1200-1300 Mag
8.1-8.5 pH

Those are the parameters that I shoot for...I can't remember how pH interacts with alkalinity, but I know it does have some kind of interaction, so you may want to read up a little more on it, or maybe somebody else will weigh in.

ok i dosed with a lil higher dose and it lowerd to 11 so should i dose higher or what

Take your time. Sudden changes aren't good. try to lower it over a few days instead of all at once.
