i was talking to a local fish store owner that is helping set up are local aquarium and he was telling me he used rid-x to cycle the tanks so there set up in just few days. they had there tank filled with water and sharks, stingrays in just 2 days.wondering anyone has tryed this been trying to find info on.if

I have no personal experience with this topic but I do recall coming across this when researching it myself. A common factor for many types of bacteria in a bottle when they began to hit the market was they seem to be sharing bacteria strains coming from the sewer/septic industry. I would definitely say Rid-x falls into this category. The issue being these bacteria are similar to that which is naturally occurring in the ocean yet not a truly accurate representation of their marine dwelling cousins given their natural environment.

I wish I remembered where I found this info before but a quick google only gave me a blog from Dr. Tim's. Of course him being a manufacturer even those claims need to be taken with a grain of salt.

ya i could never find anyone that played with and put document on it.
so i guess i will have to do a nano with couple saltwater mollys see what happens

You don't need live fish in a tank to cycle it. You can cyle with a small piece of shrimp from the grocery store/last nights dinner/whatever.

this from a scientific stand point see if tank will cycle faster didnt say when i'd add fish just said i use molly for.
but i still need to find best way tell if tank cycle besides normal testing that only says so much it all other thing come with new tank i want to see if helps with
