Ushio "standard" and "CWA" 400w lamps

*this might help people (like me!) looking for this info*

Ushio offers 2 different versions of their 400 watt mogul lamps: a standard and CWA. The CWA has an ignitor probe in the halide envelope that assists with the initial firing of the lamp. The standard lamp does not have this probe and requires a ballast with a 4kV ignitor.

fwiw these are 14k lamps and I think they're awesome!

Yep, the M135 bulbs look awesome fired on my HQI ballasts, but are run to spec on M135 ballasts which I found at Premium Aquatics in the Hamilton ballast. The Ushio 400w 14K is truly a 14K bulb. It took a little waiting, but Premium Aquatics was able to get the bulbs and ballasts in from Hamilton Lighting.

The Ushio 250w 14K is only available in CWA and appears to be more like a 10K at best.
