Using Reef Crystals and shelf life...

This might be an elementray question but ill ask it anyways because i think any question is a good question.

I use RC salt mix and i buy in bulk since i have a few tanks i store them in my basement where it a bit colder, so i opened a new 5 gallon bucket tonight and it was almost frozen not ice or anything just hard clumps and chuncks i used a sharp tile to break it up into a soft snowlike powder and made some more water, will that work fine ? as if it was normal.

also i have 10 5 gallon barrels of RC salt mix sealed and a box also sealed
what is the shelf life on those salt mixes i have had some for 2 years maybe a bit less, sealed. still OK ?

i would think that its okay to use ,just beak it up and mix it .

I don't think you'll have a problem using it either. May take some more time to dissolve, but other than that I don't think it'll change any.

what is the shelflife for dry foods ?
pellets ? flakes ?
