Utility pump from home depot?

Hmmmm, I don't know what to tell you. Need to see if the internals are ok to use with salt. I would also like to know a wattage rating.

Being a utility pump I'm sure it's been designed to handle some pretty dirty water so I wouldn't imagine disolved salt would be a major concern. As far as the wattage goes I have no idea.....I'm pretty sure I remember seeing an amperage rating on the box of 2.5? Don't quote me on that though...
Thanks

I would concur with racing1 I don't believe these pumps are made for continuous duty. I had one a couple of years ago I used to pump water off of my pool cover and it got very hot after running for an hour or so.

IMO, if you want a utility pump skip Home Depot, and go buy yourself a Iwaki, GenX, or BlueLine (PanWorld) pump.

Those are utility pumps.

My thoughts are along the same lines. Make sure there are no metal parts inside (especially on the impeller), then give it a try when you can keep an eye on it. I do recommend keeping another handy!!
