Utra Coral???

Look, I love Cherry Corals (I am not advertising, but i do) I recently purchased a wellsophylia for $150. It is supposed to be 4 inches across and a neon color (check pic below). I have never purchased a welso, and i want to know if this is an outrageous price, or if i got a steal (mixed answers from friends). Any info you have on welso's and my situation is appreciated. :beer:

That is an awesome Wellsophylia good choice , corals are getting more and more expensive.

It is a great looking wellso. Price is all a matter of opinion. I dont think that there are any corals i would ever pay 1000 for 1 or 2 polyps, but some people do. What matters is if you are happy with your purchase. yes, you will hear of someone getting a deal of a lifetime or having a private aquarist at their disposal and thats where all his\her stellar corals come from for just pennies, and you will hear of people getting hosed so bad its makes you angry for them.

Todd at Cherry Corals is a class A first rate guy with a great business. I think the prices are a bit on the high end for the majority of their stuff, BUT I KNOW I AM GETTING QUALITY PRODUCT THAT HAS BEEN TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF.

Great coral, great price.

Could you find one at a hole in the wall LFS for $75? Maybe, once in your reefing career... but as R54 mentioned you know you're getting a coral that has been cared for adhering the the most strict standards in the industry (QT'd, dipped, etc.).

Great looking coral. Agreed, you may have found one similar for less but it truly matters where/who you get it from. The hypothetical one for $75 could have a higher likelihood to die in a week or introduce some pest if not properly handled by the dealer/store.

And who cares what people say. If you liked it for the price then it's worth it to you.
