UV Shielding Glass

Thanks for everyone's feedback! I went to a glass shop on Thompson Lane and they looked at me like I was crazy. My girlfriend(of all people lol) had an old high school friend that worked at a glass shop and he ordered me a piece of it. It's called Low-E Tempered Glass. It has to be the ordered the right size because supposedly one can not cut tempered glass. Thanks again everyone!

See glass shop! I've called before and explaned the situation and they understood what I needed right away. A lot of windows are using low e glass now days.....

FWIW, should ever need non-UV shielding glass (as most is, but not quite all), old scanners are a good source.

Hey is_that_a_fish, did you ever get your glass replaced? Mine was a retrofit too. The local glass store blew smoke up my a$$ for 2 weeks and never ordered the glass in the first place. I was so ****ed! After endless searching, Aquacave had that uv shield glass replacement piece for my hqi retrofit. It was like 13 dollars. I ordered it at 5:15 pm on Wednesday, and got it Friday.

yea, i just used a piece of uv glass i had from the halogen fixture i created my retrofit from. lol.

glad you finally found some glass for yourself though, i know what a PITA it can be to be waiting for something, and to realize they never ordered it.
