Uv sterilizer ?

Ok lets stir things up a little.

I am considering a UV sterilizer for the 220 I now have up and running.
Researched the topic a little and find no straight answers.

One came with the 90 I bought last december and that tank is doing great with it, and the water seems so clear.

lets see what people think about this.

should I put one on the 220?

if so recommendations for how much wattage, how much flow, hang on sump or in-line, any recommended brand.

want to hear thoughts about this on all sides

I would go without first. From my own research it kills both bad and good from the water column.

I used to run a 35watt on my 180 and changed the bulbs as needed around 11-12 months. Never had any issues with fish or the tank with UV. Now I do not run UV due to trashing my old UV and still no issues that I would consider getting another UV for. If money/space was not an issue I would place evrything and anything on my system. Just because I could.

I run a 120W Aqua UV on the 300g...

Overkill? Possibly, but I run a slow flow through it, and have done the math to calculate what the flow rate needs to be to have the correct UV dose for what I am targeting.
