uv sterilizer

just plummed in the AQUA UV sterilizer to my new 120 gal. plummed with sched.40 pvc. when i plugged it in about 3 in of the pvc below the unions turned a florescent green. does ayone out there think this will hurt the integrety of the pipe? THANKS! FOR THE INPUT / STEVE

You mean that your normally white PVC turned green after you plugged your UV sterilizer in?? That sounds bizarre. BTW, I just moved out of Palm Coast, the "R" section. We moved up to the panhandle area.

Don't know about the integrity of it. Just watch your temps as they supposedly put out a ton of heat.

I think that is the reflection of the UV light. At night even my vinyl tubing is green/blue from the UV unit to for about 1 foot.
