UV Sterilizer

Will it help with bubble and hair algae? Please help bubble algae sux. Any help apperciated Thanks Bill & Nina

Don't have a UV but I have Mexican Turbos. And they are great!!! At least for the HA.

I haven't heard that UV sterilizers do much for macroalgae, and I don't see off-hand how that would happen. They can be useful for phytoplankton blooms.

I used a couple of emerald crabs to get rid of the bubble algae. Some people do not have much luck. I had a horrible outbreak and 2 emarlds and 3 weeks later it was almost all gone. Not sure what to do with the hair algae other than watch water parameters, keep the skimmer running, increase water changes for a while, and maybe cut back the lights. You might also check your water flow and make sure you have enough cleanup crew.

UV will not do much for macroalgae. Emerald crabs and turbos are a good clean up crew.
