Vacation & Vodka dosing

I'm heading out of town for a few days for a wedding. No big deal, because I'm only going to be gone for 3 days. But my wife & I are looking at being gone for around 2 weeks in October.

My wife's best friend is our house/ dog/ tank sitter. She does a good job with the tank, although the last time we went out of town on an extended vacation I lost about 90% of my livestock (absolutely no fault of hers, catastrophic equipment failure). So needless to say, I'm a little concerned.

I've begun vodka dosing on my tank. I anticipate that I'll be on to maintenance dosing by the time we head out to the Keys in October.

Usually what I do is to move my ATO reservoir outside of the stand, leave her with a brute full of RO/ DI water, and tell her to keep the ATO full. She's well versed on how to feed, and knows less is more when it comes to feeding. I usually either shutdown the skimmer, or set it to run really dry so that she doesn't have to deal with the skimmer.

So what do you guys think? Do I bring her up to speed on the vodka dosing? Or should I just stop the vodka for 2 weeks and deal with whatever I have when I get back?

If I run her through the dosing, then I need to show her how to empty the skimmer (not really a big deal). Also, since our dog will be staying at her house, she'll probably be coming over every other day. So the dosing would essentially be cut in half.

If I decide to stop dosing, should I slowly back off the dosing leading up to when we leave?
