I used to do it when i first switched over from a fresh water tank. I did it for about a year. It is not a bad thing imo but it does take its tole on your pod population. I stoped doing it with the plan to get a mandarin eventually and my pod population is huge now, at least compared to before. But at the same time I have a small detrirous build up that I am trying to figure out what to do with.
I have been vacuuming for some time now I have a small detritus problem too also my traits are up wonder if its from vacuuming or what??? I donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t over feed?????
If you are having a problem with detritus then you should add more flow to keep it in the water column. You can also get sand sifters such as a pink cucumber or nassisarus(sp?) snails
I have a pretty good clean up crew tiger tail cuke tons of hermits and nassuarius snails, and astreas think I could up the flow you should see how much crap gets stuck in the sand.
