Vectra L?

I asked that question several weeks ago when I called EcoTech.
I was told no.
So I bought the L1 to replace a reeflo dart/snapper on my closed loop.

I would be disappointed if one did come out in the next few months, but would have something new to put on my wish list.

Please let me know how you like it. Looking for something to put on my 625g for the closed loop. Sounds like I will need several.

Well,,,,,, it may be a while.
I went to install the L1 this morning, and ran into a problem.
I shut off my closed loop pump ( reeflo dart/snapper) and unscrewed the fittings on the single union valves on both sides of the pump.
Had to flex the pump a little to get the rubber O-rings to break loose and all of a sudden water came pouring out of both the suction side 1-1/2" pvc and the return side 1-1/2" pvc.
I turned the handle on and back off on both. Water continued to pour out.
Somehow both ball valves failed. I used the American Valve single union brand from Lowes.
It took what seemed like a eternity to get the fittings screwed back in to stop the water flowing out.
Probably a minute passed, but in that minute the water level in my sump dropped to below the mark that tells me it's 15 gallons low.

I screwed up and only designed one valve on my suction side. The bulkhead in the tank is 12" from the bottom.
I'm going to have to figure a way to plug that one from the inside so I can cut the line and install 2 new valves.
The return 1-1/2" goes into a header with 1" risers that each have ball valves on them.
Hopefully I can shut them off and drain down the line and install atleast one new valve there.

Maybe then I can get the new Vectra L1 installed.

Right now I'm trying to get all the good towels washed before my wife comes home.

the only casualty was the power supply for my mp40qd.
I moved it out of the way and set it down before I started.
It got wet and now pops and snaps with the power on.

I wonder if they dry out?

Put it in a bowl of rice for a few days near a vent in your house to help dry out and give it a go. Hard to tell if it will work or not

I placed it over a heat vent yesterday.
Been trying to get in touch with EcoTech, but they must be busy. No luck with phone support yet.

I knew the moment I posted this, I would get the call back from EcoTech.

They are sending me a power supply going out today.

Wish my cell phone hadn't dropped the call.
I had a couple more questions, but at least I got the power supply ordered.

I have the L1. I was running an iwaki 55RLT and changed to the L1 for noise and power saving.

It dropped the noise to almost zero and uses .1 amps vs 2 amps for the iwaki.

I'm running it around 40% pushing about 1000 gph through my sump. I have about the equivalent of 14 feet of head with the 45s in my plumbing.

I'm running it in the sump, and compared to the iwaki I dropped 2 degrees on my tank temp.

So far I really like it.

Well, finally got the courage up to tackle this one again.
Managed to plug the outlets on the inside of the tank and install a new valve on the suction side where most of the water came from before.
Had to do a little more plumbing than I planned on. 2 trips to Home Depot.
Can't believe I didn't have a couple extra pvc 45's on the boxes of pvc parts I have.

So after turning it on, it is truly silent.

I have a Eheim 1262 that I swore was silent too. But now I can hear it. The hum of the reeflo dart drowned out the ehein noise.

I am also going to have to figure out a replacement pump for my skimmer.

Gonna keep my eye out for a deal on a M1. lol
