Vegas

Looks like I get to be in Vegas June 1-3 by myself. Any suggestions of evening activities that won't get me into too much trouble? The Mandalay bay aquarium looks cool...

Going for work so my 9-5 is already taken, but that leaves all night for me to explore.

I've always wanted to check out the lobby of the Belagio. Dale Chihuly is an amazing glass artist and did an installation on the ceiling. From the pictures, it looks like a bunch on floating flowers or jellyfish or something. Anyway - it's on my if-I-ever-go-to-Vegas list. (Did anyone see the Chihuly exhibit at the Phoenix Botanical Gardens? so cool.)

I go for work every year. Bellagio waters are very nice. Planet Hollywood has a great sub $50 buffet. Ceasars(spelling) is spectacular inside, the forum shops and restraunts are very nice. In Ceasars forum there is a restraunt called Joe's Stone Crab. It has a special parking lot for it so you can park there if you eat there. One of the best steaks in the world. $100 a person though. Venitian is also spectacular inside. What are your priorities in Vegas?

I've stayed at the bellagio the only other time i've been there... great flower room.

My priorities are just not wasting my time there. I don't have a ton of cash, wont go to strip clubs, don't drink all that much (maybe a beer with dinner), don't want to gamble...

Im planning on visiting the mandalay bay aquarium, I'd be interested in seeing a cirque show... maybe blue man group again (saw them in Boston 5 or 6 years ago)...

No drinking...

No gambling...

No strippers...

Doesn't leave much to do in Vegas.

Seriously though, the Aquarium in Mandalay is pretty cool.

My wife & I aren't big drinkers/ gamblers/ strip club goers and whenever we go to Vegas we see a show, and eat lots of really good food. Hell, you can just walk the strip, plenty to see. RumJungle in Mandalay Bay is a great spot for dinner.

Maragrtaville is a must. All of the cansino's you can visit, not to gamble, but to sight see. Also another must Love at the Mirage, great show. Have a great time, I love going to vegas!!

You can do the "Tour de Tanks". Most of the hotels have large saltwater tanks somewhere inside of them. Visit them all! That's what I did the last couple times I was there.

Rainforest Cafe' inside the MGM Grand has some cool fish only tanks. I have visited the aquarium at Mandalay Bay and would say you have to visit it once but there is not much as far as cool reef tanks. Not many of the tanks I have seen in Vegas are reefs but cool none the less.

Go to the booths "Cheap tickets tonite" for discounts on shows, you can find them on almost every corner.

The Venitian is a must see as well as the luxor if you you have time and not alot of $

Circus Circus has free shows and the adventure dome (25.00) for all day passes to ride.

If you have the guts go to the top of the Statosphere and ride the sling shot :)

Blue man group is over 100 a ticket at a discounted rate.

I really enjoyed blue man. New York, New York has a nice coaster. I also agree with the Cirque shows. There are a few to choose from but they are also spendy. Stay away from the older hotels. Circus, Circus and the Imperial Palace are real crap holes. They are mostly about gambling and drinking and tend to be more smokey and dirty. Have fun, you will need a vacation after you get back.

Even though you don't drink, Dick's Last Resort in the Excalibur has live music at night... A copy-cat 80s tribute band. And it's hilarious. Or maybe that's just the kind of stuff that I like and no one else does, haha.

That sounds like fun... live music could be very cool.
