Velvet / ick outbreak in 220 15 fish left

I do not think you are fully understanding. If the fish have Velvet, then your tank needs to be treated. That is by medication or by being left without a fish in it for 6 weeks. If you fail to do that, along with treating the fish, you will not gain anything from Quarantining new fish.
I let the velvet run it's course
Didn't add anything new for about 2 months tank is doing great now ! Keeping my fingers crossed from what I understand velvet can pop up again if I see any sight of it this time I will remove all the fish and treat but I'm keeping my fingers crossed

6 weeks? Everywhere else I read the Velvet cycle is 28 days and that removing the fishes for 30 days would be sufficient.
Can you elaborate, please?
I kept my tank fishless for 33 days and my tank is again fully stocked without any Velvet. The 30 days mark worked for me.
Ok so this is an update after suffering my initial loses lost about 1/2 my fish I waited about 8 weeks and slowly added new fish I Havnt had any more velvet but still get ick on my hippo once in a while I believe if I could catch these 2 rabbit fish the ick would clear up
Qt is a great practice and if u have a lg system with ick prone fish / expensive fish no doubt the only way to go but for ur average joe has a family busy at work etc not very practical and although ur taking a risk every time u add new fish in an established system it's a calculated risk again just an opinion I believe if I pulled all the fish out when the velvet hit I would have killed more fish

I disagree. I have a full-time job (including travel), a family and other hobbies. I QT all new fish and do not find it to be difficult to manage.

What she said. Some fish develop temporary (six month) immunity to parasites after surviving an outbreak. However, they still can carry the parasite even if not infected and infect other fish.
I hear you like I said it's just an opinion you guys qt every fish I don't ! I know a few guys who have won totm on my local Fourm and even one who's won on reef 2 reef who run there system the same as me and again I'm not saying it's the right way just the way I do it because I don't have a qt and never learned how to medicate fish I might learn one day !
I still believe if I had removed all my fish to treat them because of the velvet I would have had way more losses overall in my case I let it run it course
