GEEEEZ ONLY $33 cheaper than the Canadians for the 72" 260 model....any word on when these fixtures are going to be actually affordable to the regular middle class reefer ??? Dont get me wrong... Good effort to get these finally in the US.. I was just hoping that the almost $5000 price tag was just because you could only buy these from Canada.....

Just my two pennies..

But if you're comparing the Canadian Price to the PA's.. you're gonna actually spend a lot more buying from a Canadian supplier. I was quoted $75-100 to ship from Canada (before PA announced they carried this light), but that's not all.. you get slapped with a $100 or more brokerage fee from the shipping company too!...

Free shipiing from PA = $200 or more dollars in my pocket that I'll take.

BTW, my light comes in on Monday! WOOT!

YA I saw that but the $33 dollar difference is from the final shipped price of the 2 companies... I was using J&L Aquatics as my comparison.

Sorry, it is what it is. You can thank the value of the Dollar in the global economy for this. The exchange rate for Canadian right now is about 1.03 or so, and when you're looking at a fixture that is north of $4000, it's going to hurt some with that 3%. However, even at the price tag they're at, they've still been selling very well world wide.

Thanks Jeremy, I will be away for business untill the 18th, I will give you a ring then.
I would like to try 2 of them to begin with, are they easy to instal?
Love the spread and the color as well as how low profile it is, it is a shame I had to buy it from Canada, Would have been much happier to support you.
You guys are great source for reefing goods and I have enjoyed dealing with PA on a few occasions.

I haven't test the par on my fixture but I switched from 250 W MH to SR200 and burned the SPS tips @80% intensity.
I am not sure if that means it is more intense but just my observation.
There are some PAR data from an aussie reefer on the other thread.

The red pads are very easy to install. Once we get them in I will put one in my fixture and document how it goes in to post back on here.

How did you guys mount your fixtures? I've got the standard drywall ceilings... I took a look at the mounting hardware in my incorrect sized light fixture just too see how it mounts and it seems to leave an open end to connect to the ceiling?

Is there something else I need to purchase to mount?

Thanks...

Everything comes with the fixture, the mounting kit has 2 parts, one connects to the fixture the other piece you screw to the ceiling, so I guess you got to find the screw that fits your application either wood or Cement.
That is all I had to buy extra!

Awesome, I will be in touch next week! stuck in Hong Kong for business should be back this weekend! super excited to try these!

So these are the controllable units? Did Vertex decide to pay the copyright fee for selling these in the US? I was going to order these from Canada. I will be buying them from you all instead...YAY!!! Also, I see that you are going to be carrying the 200 model soon. What is the difference between this model and the 260? I can't remember off the top of my head. And what will be the price difference between the 200 model and the 260 model for a 12" fixture. This is the light I plan on hanging above the Elos Midi.
