Any cracks on the skimmer?? Anything wrong with it other than the pump?

$40 is for the impeller not pump, have you tried contacting Proline about the pump?

no cracks in the skimmer

The pump works but the pump might have stray voltage. I was told it does so it's safer to replace pump.
