Vertical Manifold setup??

Would something like this work for a manifold? I'm trying to keep the sump as clean as possible without using a lot of 90s. I though about mounting manifold vertical off a tee to the right, left is one return, above is another return. I don't want to put any reactors in the sump and would them in the open space to the right of the sump, this would leave me room to for maintenance of the reactors and the sump.

Yes, it would work fine vertically or horizontally. Water pressure will be the same either way.

You're not planning to gravity feed the manifold from the drain, are you? It looks like it in the photo. If you are, it's not going to work as most things you will hook up to the manifold need to be pressure fed.

Yes it will be connected to the manifold off the tee, I'm trying to show that in the picture. I just didn't want to cut pvc to show it. Water pressure will be controlled using ball valves.

Let's just make sure we're on the same page, the water will be coming from the return pump that feeds the returns. Reading one of the above post does make sense, water press is water pressure no matter where it is. Just like ok your house, once it builds and stays the same it will feed the manifold.

Ah OK, I think I get it. In the photo, the right two pipes are returns, and you're going to tee off one to feed the manifold. Is that right? If so, you're all good, should be fine. :beer:

I can't see why it will not work. You should be fine. Only to consider that when you have your reactors in or above sump, less risk in case a leaking to happen as it will drip into the sump. But of course this just a precaution.

Yeah, I've thought about that, there will be water leak detection. But i'm sure if it ever does happen i'll be throwing them in the sump!1 lol
