My yellow watchman goby had a growth on his eye(I posted on it in the past), so I treated him with a medication, put him in a quarantine and thought all would be well.
All is not well. I gave him the praprizo (I think that is spelled right) for about one and a half months as it was instructed. His eyes were bulging outwards to an extreme degree and slowly then returned to normal size, although now they look like they are damaged. So much so, that I do not think the fish can see. He does swim around and is active(that took a while - he was lethargic for about a month) but his eyes just look awful. They just look like they were scraped away.
I don't know if there is anything that I can do it make him better. I am thinking perhaps that it is time to euthanize the fish. I don't want to do it, but if he is going to be blind and suffer the rest of his life in the quarantine tank, it just doesn't seem right.
I don't know if maybe I didn't treat him quickly enough and the parasites destroyed his eyes before the medication could get them, or if it was some other problem that just seemed to change as I gave him the medicine. There was another fish in the same tank originally, but the other fish never has developed any problems. If the medicine cured him but now he is blind, I don't know if it will be right to put him back in the main tank. I don't have the resources to keep him in the quarantine indefinitely(at least not with great equipment). Also, I don't know for sure if he could make my other fish sick.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I don't know what to do.
