Moved On
A couple days back, I released an electric orange stripe Hawaiian hermit crab that just came out of timeout in my tank. Well the next morning, I see the crab next to my purple LTA. I could tell right away that the crab was guilty for something. So I looked at the LTA and it had completely detached from the sandbed.
I was pretty mad because it has just dug its foot in a couple days ago. I think the crab was bothering my LTA.
Well last night, it still had not attached back yet to how it was before. But its still sticky, eating, fully inflated and its mouth is tightly shut. Well when I went to feed the LTA, my cleaner shrimp kept on pestering my LTA for the food. As a result, the LTA started to become stressed with its position and started to inflate. Little did I know it could fully inflate to the point where it could float around the whole tank. I didn't know LTAs could do that. I was aware of BTAs doing that but not any other anemone. I figured this all out when I saw my purple LTA jammed in my Maxi jet pump and I freaked. I turned off all the pumps and was all in a rush to save it. I carefully got its body and each tentacle out of the intake area after 5 minutes. I put a plastic box with slits on top over the LTA so it can get reestablished. And still my male Clarkii hosts it and sleeps in it. The LTA looks a lot better after last night.
So my question is, do you think it will survive despite what it looks like now? Its not getting the best flow with the plastic covering over it, but the plastic covering is a safegaurd. How long should I keep it in on for? I just want to be sure.
Thanks.
