I just wanted to share my experiences with this vendor.
Less than 2 weeks ago i purchased a Tunze 9010 from MD. Upon receipt of the item, i put it together and started to use it. There were alot of microbubble coming out of the skimmer, but it skimmed like a champ. Based on some RC searches I did, I decided to give the skimmer a week to stop spewing microbubbles. Unfortunately, they never stopped. At this point I decided to disassemble the unit to look to see if there was a problem. Indeed there was a crack at the couple that connectd the air inlet, pump and hydroformer. While the microbubble were annoying, I did not have a spare skimmer, and instead of trying to get a refund/replacemet, I decided to just get a new part. The next day before I had a chance to order the new part, the skimmer stopped skimming entirely!!!
When I called MD to try and get a refund or replacement, the customer service agent assured me that he could get me a refund and that he would call me back. Later that day I recieve an e-mail from MD saying that they would not replace the item and that a refund would require a 25% restocking fee:eek2:
When I spend $340 dollars on an item, I expect that if it breaks within two weeks of purchase that the seller would replace it or refund me in a timely manner. Am I crazy for believing that this is the correct way to do business?
So here i am with a heavily stocked, bare bottom 80g system, and 25# live rock, just waiting for my tank to crash...... Thanks MarineDepot, the thousands that I have spent with you apparently mean nothing![Frown :( :(](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f641.png)
