Very slight diatom starting

What are they going to eat? Diatoms are using up all the available silicates in your tank.

Putting some fresh broccoli or a few algae wafers on a rock on the bottom will help your CUC and provide some food to spur the micro population of critters. I do it a few times a week. :D

I am back to a 8 hour photoperiod. I got new bulbs got 2blue+,1coral+,1aquablue special. I had the original crappy bulbs from the aquatic life fixture with about a year on them before i got it out of storage. Idk if was the waterchange on Friday or the new bulbs don't show the diatoms or a combination of all 3 but the seem almost gone

I appreciate everyone's advice but as far as rock goes I am loaded. I don't even know what I will do with corals on rocks. My mccosker he likes to be in the back and with so much rock I can't see him. Btw this is a much different color tank now. I would call it a crisp blue with a little pink hue to it

Oh another thing I watched melevs reef and decided to try what he does. He puts turbos and astrea and cerith when they are not in the sand where he wants cleaned. I'm trying it seems good so far. Make them things work no more being lazy

Diatoms all but gone now except in the powerheads and magnet will they go away on their own or do I need to soak them

Hmm, it depend. I'm thinking they are part of your cycle and once the limiting chemical agent runs out they should starve and die off. Give it a week or two.
