Ok, well let this be a reminder to have prefilters gaurding your overflow box....my 125 is predrilled and a snail decided to lodge himself into the elbow right under where the pvc passes from inside the tank to outside. The elbow is locked in tight,a dn i dont know how to get him out. the stupid snail has nearly blocked the entire flow and thus resulting in a botched plumbing system... The overflows cant keep up with the return... man i hate snails...im just going to get a freakin algae blenny. please if any has any ideas...otherwise im just goign to kill the snail and bash it into little tiny pieces.

thanks,

Nelson

the snail is probably toast... just take your poker stick and start mashing

(unless you can reverse flow through the pipe for a bit first)

If you can reach it, then I'd say yes, bash away. Good luck though, snail shells are hard!

BTW, this is a perfect example of why I always recommend that people use their return hole in their overflow (if they have one) as a backup drain, and just bring the return from the sump up and over the back of the tank instead. Hope you didn't get an overflowing tank.

fortunetly the sump just ran dry. i tried using a long drill bit and kinda just went through the plastic elbow :( looks like im going ot be making patches as well...i have no clue in how to break this guy apart...

a street tee is as you can see much better than a 90 elbow...

Take the same drill bit and now punch a hole in the "down" direction.

A couple silicone patches will fix the pipe right up..
