VHO ballast, T5 ballast ?

Is there anyway to use this VHO ballast for T5's?

You could probably cut the endcaps off and wire it to T5 endcaps but you would need the schematic. Why not just buy an icecap? They are just about the same price if not cheaper and they have a great warrantee and customer support.

I think icecap is the only ballast that can fire both vho or t-5s. I agree with jjj, if you look I think you can find a 660 for less than that.

Im guessing this is the ballast your using for your vho's right now? im going to go do some research and see what i can find out on it.

I already have that set up w/ ballast and I'm thinking of changing to T5's. Just wondering if I can do it a bit cheaper without having to fork over the cash for another ballast.

I cant seem to find info on that specific ballast Pat, i would actually email pfo if i were you. All i have read so far points out that the ballast will probably run the t5s but not to their full potential, something about performance degradation. Im not exactly sure what is different. I found that besides the icecap there is also a uri ballast that is advertised as being able to properly run vho and t5. Ill continue to look.

Damn Pat, I just ordered a VHO ballast for my new setup, I wouldve traded you some T5 ballasts for that setup....

If you want to swap, let me know and then I can just sell the new one I get.... Maybe I can call hellolights in the AM and cancel the VHO part of my order ???

What do you have for T5's Doug? I wish I had known you were in the market for VHO's, I've only used one of the bulbs on the two bulb ballast. One of the ballast hasn't been used because I can't figure out how to mount on the back and I'm lazy!

I have advance T5 HO ballasts.....

2X54w'ers

and

2X24/39w'ers

All you would need is wire and the standoff/endcaps for the T5's then.... Well and reflectors. :lol:
