VHO Bulbs?

My 50-50 48" VHO died on me. I called Deep Reef, Petland, Tropiquatics, nobody stocks VHOs?????

Anyone in the Naperville Metropolitan area happen to have an extra I could buy off you? I can't believe nobody stocks them. I just can't bring myself to go into Scott's, where I'm sure they'll have a sticker of $40+ for one of these.

If anyone has an extra, please let me know.

I have 1.5 yr. bulbs that I just replaced. They are the superactinic and appear same in color as my new ones. Obviously they would be temporary for you, but hey

How old was the lamp, they don't normally just stop working. I'd look else ware. I had a short in one of the 3 piece end caps (dam salt creep) smoked the bulb and needed to send the IC 430 in for repairs. Remove the end caps (wash,clean and dry), and install a NO lamp to double check that the ballast is in good operating condition. I didn't and I smoked a 2nd bulb before I wised up! The 2 bulbs that went, had heavy black deposits on the one end for a couple of inches!

Don't know how close to Lisle, but Advanced Aquatics in Schuamburg has them for a decent price.

How many are you lookin' for? I have 3 48" Actinic White 50/50 (made by UV Lighting Co.(it is the same company that used to be called URI)). I live in Medinah and go out to Glen Ellyn for school everyday.

Also have a new ballast and 3 sets of new end caps (that is if you have a problem like Doug had mentioned).

I was thinking $25 per bulb. LMK. Thanks.

I get ny bulbs from Advanced Aquatics in Schaumburg. Their store prices on dry good are very good.

Doug: bulb is 13 or 14mos old. I think that is it. It's sort of flickering without firing all the way.

Hans I only need one but not sure when we can hook up. I'm going to check to see how fast Deep Reef can get them and whether Tropiquatics has them thanks.

I ordered mine from marine depot. If you order 3 or 4 (I dont remember which quantity) the shipping is free. Prices are fair and I recieved the bulbs in 2 working days.

Called Petland, talked to Paul, and he dug up two.

But one of my endcaps was brown. The old bulb was dead, no doubt.

How did my endcap get fried????????

PA is sending a new one. Grrrr... Hope I can replace this without takin gthe canopy down as that will be a royal, royal PITA.
