no they are just as bright.

If you are planning to use for actinic supplimenting, and with bulbs currently available, vho is the way to go. That said t5's are brighter that the wattage suggests. I have 8x39watt t5's and now use 2x95w vho's (uri super actinic) for actinic supplimenting. There is just no comparason between any of the currently available t5 bulbs and the uri vho's. I am waiting to see the new uri/uv t5's, but they have not been released yet. I guess we will see if the new super actinic t5's hold a candle to vho's. There are some pretty high expectations for the new uv t5's, I hope they deliver.

I have used the110 watt 6 ft VHO bulbs on my 230 ga and recently went to PC 96 watt . The VHO is much better , more pleasing to the eye.

I hope they keep the cost down so they are affordable for all. Some people have to compromise because they can't afford the equipment they want or need. Some just want to complain about prices

i only complain about prices when i know i can get the same thing somewhere else alot cheaper.
