fish and other ichthy stuff should be close to that. they are uri I think. they are in oldsmar if you are not familiar with them. otherwise check finz they may have coralife if you prefer that.
I do have an Icecap, where would i go about getting NO bulbs? and are they 10k? i;m guessing if they're 5 bucks, they'd probably be at homedepot or something. And do NO's come in actinic blues as well?
For actnics I would buy the VHO bulbs. The NO bulbs are 6500 k from Home Depot or Lowes. I like to use two NO 6500 K run on an IceCap 660 and one actnic bulbs. The atnic you have to buy form the fish store.
understand doing as suggested you are not running the bulbs as intended by the manufacturer and they will give you close to twice the intensity at half the normal life. this doesn't mean they will burn out just won't be as intense and the color will shift. may or may not cause problems with live stock. my experience it does effect the color of corals in a negative way.
i tried the homedepot idea. didnt really like it ... you have the get the daylight bulbs to even come close. but thats me.
im practically all halides now and love it. i run two actinics that are n.o. that come on 2 hours b4 halides and 1 1/2 after halides.
i think if you wait and save another 20 bucks and buy the true vho you will be much happier
ok thanks for the heads up, i would do metal halides,b ut i already have 2 running on there and i dont know how to rewire and the bulbs for metal halides are freakishly expensive.
