vho's and clams

i am about to move my 55 gal into a 75 gal. and i was wondering what type of clams i could keep under 440 watts of vho. bulbs are 2 03's, a aquasun and a 50/50. any help is appeciated.

I've been keeping a crocea, maxima, gigas and a derasa, with the icecap 660, but my bulbs are 3 6500K and 1 Actinic. I have pictures in my gallery and web

I know some people have been able to keep Clams that need high amounts of light, but I would say you would be safe with a Deresa or Squamosa.

I think maximas are probably ok with vho. I don't know about croceas. Probably pushing it, but possible. Of course you will get a lot of responses saying they are keeping clams in a 120 gal tank with a 10 watt desk lamp. Use common sense, I would suggest reading Daniel Knopps' Giant Clam book(before you get the clam).

You would probably be fine with all of the available clams. Dont expect wild colors or above average growth. They still grow fast, though, so be sure to provide for it.

what can i feed them i know that they a very particular on what they eat. have heard dt's but i have never had good luck with it. i always shake it up and everything like it says but i always starts stinking after about a month. maybe i should turn the fridge down a bit may not be cold enough. anyone know what temp the fridge should be on?
