Any one keep maximas under VHOs. Would 4 110watts be enough for a 55gallon.

Maybe, but you would have to keep up with bulb replacements. VHO doesnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t have very good penetration and you would have to have really good reflectors (Mylar in the hood too would help). PC, T5 and MHs all have much greater water penetration than VHOs.

I kept a crocea and two maximas under about 400w of VHO on my 58g. They always had great color, good growth, and looked healthy. I did suppliment feedings with live phyto when they were smaller.
