Hey guys,
I was just wondering aabout this pump. I am thinking about getting it for my 10 gal NC. It is about 152 G/h so approx. 15X turnover. My stock pump is getting pretty noisy so I am thinking it might break (about a little over a year). How can i reduce the sound in my older one, is it going to break? Any ideas, I read somewhere that some how you can get some plastic tubing and somehow put it in the pump to make it quitier? even If i fix it I am still going to buy the Via Aqua. I am thinking if I am successful at silencing the stock pump i just might use both, stock pump in the 1st chamber behind grate, kind of like steelhealr? (with the sponge being lower to minimize dubris from going back into tank.). 252 g/h too much? probably o.k.for some SPS? It says it is quet but what do you guys think. just want your thoughts. thx

I have one of their bigger models (3600) no compaints so far. I pinged down in the equipment forum before I went with that one, too. Nobody had any complaints at all.

This pump is very bad for smaller tanks...
I have had it for a good while and the pump heats the water a good 6 degrees or more on a hot day. using a chiller for a 12 gal is ridiculous so I had to do away with it and use my old one...I guess these pumps were made for ponds and fountains not aquariums.
