Via Aqua 750. Good or Bad?

Has anyone ever used the Via Aqua 750 canister filter? My friend gave me
One for free and am wondering if it's good. I have a 36 gallon salt water setup!

i think most here would say canister filters could do more harm than good and few use them for reefing.

I have heard that before on here. But I have a fish Only setup and the fish stores around here all say go canister filters. As long as you keep it clean it works great right?
