I love how they appear to measure the shell opening w/ their claws before they attempt a move. Hermits can be very interesting to watch.

That is so cool. I've seen some of my hermit's in newer bigger shells but I've never been able to see how they go about doing it.

If you listen i think you can hear a pop when it slides out of its first shell
