I know it's a FOWLR but I figured some of the angel fans would enjoy this. Can you find and name all eight of my angels??
Sorry about the quality.

Emperor
Blueface
Asfur
Flagfin
Bluespotted
Regal
Venustus
Potter's

But anyways, the streamer on that moorish idol is awesome!

If I were you, I'd slap a background on that tank and arrange some of those rocks. The fish collection is stellar!

You are correct!!
The rocks are going to be rearranged soon. I had to remove them all and scrub them in a tub to remove the die off after a cupramine treatment. The back was covered in coraline at one time until the cupramine killed it.

All of my fish are fat & healthy including the MI.

Just being devil's advocate here -- but doesn't healthy and having to treat with cupramine kind of go against each other?

I would say no!! This is the reason I have a FOWLR. I can treat the entire tank if needed. My dart return pump stopped working & I had to wait way to long for a replacement. Which led to a broken sump, leaky bulk heads, & basically no filtration for about 3 weeks. The fish were very stressed & thus they came down with parasites. So yes they are very fat & healthy now.

How can you say no?

A healthy fish doesn't have parasites. And the parasites just didn't pop up out of no where, they were already in your tank -- the sump being down didn't cause them.

It's a proven fact that stress can cause a fish to have an outbreak. Most experts believe that parasites are always present in our systems. A healthy & stress free fish is immune to them. So yes the sump being down did cause the fish to be stressed which lowered their immune system hince the break out.

I will leave your thread alone after this -- I partially agree, but if your sump going down caused that much stress over 3 weeks, there are (( IMO )) existing issues.

I enjoyed the banter. There was other factors involved including 2 power outages. The tank went from having 3600 GPH to almost nothing with an airstone. The only circulation I have on the tank is the dart.

Wait, healthy fish don't have ANY parasites? I would think the majority of full grown, healthy wild fish have some kind of parasite present in/on them at all times. A healthy fish keeps hostile bacteria, fungus, virus, parasistes, etc from taking over their system, but many of them are present in some quantity.

Then I will continue ;) Didn't want to take away too much from it.

Ahh, the dart being the only circulation, IMO, is a huge factor -- more so then the sump itself being off. I tend to think (( wrongly )) that other tanks are like mine -- I have reef tanks with powerheads in them, so my sump being offline, would suck, but wouldn't be that big of a deal for 3 weeks. -- assuming I moved the heater.

I added a few small power heads for circulation but nothing remotely compared to the output of the dart.

I too have multiple powerheads on every tank. And the tanks are on a generator. Does not make them bullet proof but it gives me some piece of mind.
