Just to clarify the above statement. I added the powerheads temporarily while the dart was down. Once the dart was fixed I removed them.

I agree, I think 8 angels is a bit too many in a 220g and may have something to do with it.

Sorry your incorrect. :worried:All of my angels have & continue to be happy & healthy. I've been mixing angels since the mid eighties & know exactly what I'm doing.
If this was or ever becomes an issue I will remove some at that time.

nice tank ive never seen a nice and healthy MI EVER. from what ive read yoru tank is a 220? lol so 6ftx2ftx30" nice size tank, do you wish you wouldof gone a 180 or something else (relative to your current tank dems) for easy glass cleaning and like issues? ive heard people say the extra ~30 between a 180 and 210/220 is a waste becuase fish dont NEED to have an additional 3" of height.

I also love angels and I'm trying to have a collection of mostly smaller angels in my 210g. Right now though I only have a lemon peel and a coral beauty. I had to remove a cherub because it tore the fins of my coral beauty and was set on killing it. Now today I find the coral beauty with torn fins and white marks on it's body. I'm this is the lemon peel, which is weird because they looked like the best of friends before.
If I get more angels will it lesson aggression?

Can you recommend any other good looking angels that are less aggressive?

I ALWAYS use an acclimation box when introducing new fish to an existing tank. You need to observe the existing fish's reaction to the new addition before releasing it into another angels terratory. If you look at the bottom left hand side of the venustus pic you can see the top of the critter keeper I use for acclimation. I've gone as long as a month before releasing the new angel into the tank due to aggression of the existing angels. I would never just add a new angel. You are just asking for it to be beaten to death or stressed to the point of making it sick.
I wouldn't add as many centropyge. Mixing up the genus seems to work out better. I would add a bluespot instead of two of the pygmy angels. Mine is very personable & docile.

The fish look healthy, but in about 10 seconds I saw multiple aggressive interactions. That kind of chronic stress is definitely a setup for more outbreaks. That's probably why you had trouble after just a 3 week issue with the sump. They were close to the edge, and that pushed them over.

Everyone has their own opinion & are entitled to it. As I stated before they had almost no circulation for that amount a time. I know from 20+ years experience what true aggression is. Seeing you live in MI your more than welcome to come and check out the "aggressive interactions" in person. If there was a problem don't you think the Moorish Idol would of never made it this far & be as healthy as it is?? Most of these fish have been raised from juvi's together.

Depends on where you are in MI, however, if the goal is to see aggression, it really wouldn't be necessary, since I've already seen it.
As for the moorish idol, not necessarily, it wasn't involved in any of the aggression in the video. Also, if you get one of those hardy moorish idols, they're pretty tough fish (it's a shame the healthy ones are so few and far between).
Why is it no thread on this bb can avoid descending into a ****ing match about quarantining, being overstocked, or having fewer parasites than the other guy? This is stupid and I just come for the pictures anymore. Finding useful and interesting discussion is very difficult here these days.
Btw, love the C caruleopunctatus (sp?). I never get to see pics of these, especially somewhat larger sized ones. Do you find this to be a delicate fish or to have any particular husbandry issues?

I have to agree with you that's why I rarely ever post pics or stats on my tank. You have to wonder how many gorgeous tanks there are out there that we will never have a chance to see.
I'm glad you loved the bluespot. I purchased it as a juvi. It's the most personable out of all my angels. It's always front & center. It reminds me of a bluegill with its shape and attitude. My kids call him "pudge" because he's so thick. It now eats anything I feed the tank with gusto. Initially it was finicky & would only eat mysis & brine. I would highly recommend one.
Actually, if you just come for the pictures, then you might consider avoiding posts of this nature or the one below it. People are concerned with husbandry issues because some aquarists on the board disregard proper husbandry.
