Vinegar bath used tank?

I got a used 120g with external overflow, the back and the overflow box is covered with coraline algae and I am about to do a vinegar bath.

I am thinking to add water and vinegar and let return pumps circulate the water

The questions are:
I bought 3 4L vinegar, will that be enough ?
Will the vinegar affect the silicon seals?
How long should I soak the tanks for?

Thanks

Overnight. YOu can soak towel in the vinegar and hang them on the affected areas you can't submerge. I use straight vinegar and do not dilute. You can run pumps and other gear in vinegar. It doesn't harm seals, and a little left in a pump won't hurt the water, either.

I usually will lay a tank on its side so it doesn't need as much vinegar. Don't dilute the vinegar, just let it soak and do its thing. Sk8r's towel trick works great.
