Vinegar Dosing Question

Hey Folks -

I'm about to start dosing Vinegar to my tank to

a) Keep Nitrates low and
b) Help promote SPS coral growth.

I've read a ton about it, but I have a question that seems to be a matter of opinion -

I'm currently running GFO through a BRS reactor. I change it once a month, and use 1/2 the recommended dose. My current readings are

Nitrates: 10 PPM (this will go up as I restock fish)
Phosphates: 0.00 w/ a Hannah Checker

Should I stop using GFO for now? Run them both? Hold of on vinegar dosing until there is a need? I've read a lot about having too low Phosphates hurting coral growth...

And advice/opinions/ideas/encouragement welcome. Thanks so much -

Well, we don't have useful equipment for measuring low but significant amounts of phosphate, so any answer involves some guessing. I'd likely leave the GFO alone and see how the vinegar dosing works. If there was no reduction in the nitrate level over some period of time, I'd consider cutting back gradually on the GFO.
