vinegar?

is plain old white vinegar ok to remove Coraline build-up on an empty tank
I am going to be polishing my Acrylic tank soon but think it best to remove the build up to keep it from flaking off and causing a new scratch.

In addition, the Pro Scraper from Kent Marine with the acrylic attachment works great.

I was fearful of using a scrapper dry. Little pieces of it flying everywhere and ending under the blade of the scraper and dug into the acrylic.

That or an old credit card reefers are cheap!!!!!!!!!!!

the vinegar worked like a charm. I broke out a scraper for a couple of tough spots but other than that the mild acid dissolved the coraline just fine.
